Pennsylvania was focused around one thing, farming. The people of the Pennsylvania colony got most of their money from farming and trade.
The colonists thought that the farming was easiest there because the soil is better than any of the other colonies. They began farming basic with cattle and other farming animals including the chicken and horse. They began to grow tomatoes along with many other crops including wheat, rye, corn, hemp, and flax. They traded some of these crops with some of the tobacco down in the Southern colonies. Their main trade was to England. They traded jewels, slaves, and goods. They also traded to Africa, goods, in trade for slaves. The colony consisted of mainly farmers. The Pennsylvania farms could be as big as 300 acres to as small as 100 acres. Usually the farm houses consisted of only one room. The farms also provided most of the food that the colonists ate and sold.
